Often clients are overwhelmed. They might have some ideas about what they want to change or where they want to land, but life is busy and it can be hard to quiet the noise, and decide what the next right step is. That’s where the tools of coaching come in.
Coaching is so dynamic that it often defies description. Simply put, it is a powerful process that involves a kind of deep listening and focus that is rarely if ever available in our everyday lives. Working with a professional coach is a partnership that involves connecting to your values, your unique voice, your true calling, and getting to the core of what is important, what is possible, then finding the concrete steps necessary to manifest a life in alignment with these parts.
As a coach I am fully committed to supporting each of my clients to connect to their truest self, to envision, and actually realize their most fulfilling life. Through this process, I have had the opportunity to witness the transformational power of coaching with my clients in every session.
I have a very diverse background that informs how I coach and the skills and insights I can bring to each session. Along with my experience and education from my training at the Co-Active Institute for coaching, I bring my background as professional mediator, teacher working with both adolescents and adults, musician, certified yoga instructor, licensed attorney, artist, spouse, daughter, and mother of two teenagers with me to whatever I do.
I have always been passionate about working with people and in professions that support others. In another life, I was a modern dancer and a manager of a dance company in San Francisco. Following my passion for history and justice, I studied law at the University of San Francisco, School of Law, passing the California Bar exam in 2006. Inspired by the idea of supporting people in resolving conflicts outside of the binary of the judicial system, I focused my energies on Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Out of law school, I served as a research attorney at San Francisco Superior Court, supporting the presiding judge and the other judges of the court. . While I enjoyed the challenging intellectual work, I found my true passion was listening to the parties tell their stories and looking for creative solutions outside of the system to resolve their conflicts.
I found my way to coaching after working with a coach myself. At the time, I had been considering a path in clinical psychology, and sought the support of a coach as a part of clarifying this path. While I loved the study of psychology, after taking my first coaching course and beginning to do the actual work of coaching with clients, I was hooked. I committed myself to the work of coaching and have not looked back. I rolled up my sleeves and got to work, helping others find their own path. What are the obstacles keeping someone from moving towards what they truly want or envision for themselves? How can we address those obstacles and move forward?
